Wooden Sticks!!!
I brought 3 wood sticks from my past to HP today- originally just for fun- but it was amazing what the kids learned about racquet head speed, stiffness, tiny sweet spots, and the resiliency of 50 yr old string jobs! I was truly amazed at how much they enjoyed the drill and liked playing with wood. The kids had a blast playing old school tennis, and made some discoveries from the past that should have a cool effect on their future.

There's Sacchit hitting a pretty decent volley with a Davis Classic!

Anisha found that heavy topspin existed long before graphite, I think thats a Wilson Stan Smith but shes whipping it so fast I can't tell!

Eric, Anisha, and Sachchit doing their best catalog model impersonation, with the Davis, the Wilson, and a Dunlop Maxply !
Several appropriate quotes come to mind
1-How can you know where you are going, if you don't know where you've been?
2- A people without knowledge of their history, is like a tree without roots.
It was a fun lesson, and the kids made the most of it.
